Space telescope will survey supernovae and the expansion of the universe caused by cosmic pressure.
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration recently announced the upcoming Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope mission that will survey thousands of exploding stars. The observations are expected to shed light on the rate at which the universe is expanding and assess the effects of gravity on the distribution of dark matter.
“Dark energy makes up the majority of the cosmos, but we don’t actually know what it is,” said senior research scientist Jason Rhodes of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. “By narrowing down possible explanations, Roman could revolutionize our understanding of the universe – and dark energy is just one of the many topics the mission will explore!”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope to be effective in its mission.
- For researchers at NASA as they study the universe.
- For the space missions that NASA launches to cause Americans to glorify God.
